Wild Fishing

I wanted to show the working process from when the fish is caught out of the sea to when its displayed in the shop. I spent a lot of time on local fishing boats in Guernsey, and lingering around the fishing key. I found it intriguing the techniques and different skills they have in order to get their specific catch! Guernsey is very dependent on its fishing industry as there is not much arable or agricultural farm land, which means the demand from locals and restaurant for local produce is high.

This project were shot over days, weeks, mornings + nights - I was practically living down the key!

An interesting fact I gathered from the crabbers - They'd travelled whilst fishing the equivalent of round the world twice in their boat, but never been past Sark ( a close neighbouring island)!
